Multi-Identifier Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
1. Applicability
This Privacy Policy applies to the Multi-Identifier mobile application and related websites and services (together, the "App") provided by Obitstudio ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing or using the App you acknowledge that you have read this policy and consent to the practices described. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Important notice about advertising
The App is free and is supported by advertising. Advertisements will be displayed in and around the App, including full-screen (interstitial), banner, native, rewarded and app-open ads, reward pop-ups, and content recommendations. Ads may also appear when you are not actively using a particular feature, for example as pop-ups or on your home screen where permitted by Android. Ads are provided by third-party advertising networks and partners that may collect information from your device to select, show and measure ads. You can limit ad personalization at any time as described in Section 8.
3. Information we collect
Information collected automatically: device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID (a resettable ID used for ad personalization and measurement) and other device or instance IDs; device model, manufacturer, operating system and version, language, time zone, screen and hardware characteristics; network type and carrier; IP address and approximate location derived from it; app version, install source and attribution data; crash logs, diagnostics and performance data; and information about how you use the App, such as screens viewed, features used, ads viewed or clicked, in-app searches and other interactions.
Photos you scan: when you take a photo or upload one from your gallery, the image is processed to generate the identification result (for example, what a coin or banknote is and related details). We use the photo to provide the result you requested and not to identify you. Images may be transmitted to our servers or to AI service providers for processing.
Information from your device with your permission: camera access to take photos; photos and media you select; precise or approximate location where you allow it; information about apps installed on your device used for analytics, fraud prevention and advertising; and notification settings.
Information you provide: your email address and message content when you contact us, and any feedback you send.
We do not intentionally collect your name, government identifiers, payment card details, passwords, contacts, SMS or call logs, or health data.
4. Permissions the App may request
To provide its features and to display ads, the App and its software development kits (SDKs) may request a broad set of Android permissions. We list them so you are fully informed. You may deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, but some features may then be unavailable or work differently.
- Camera (CAMERA): to take photos of the items you want to identify.
- Photos and media / storage (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE where applicable): to let you choose images from your gallery and save results.
- Internet and network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): to run AI identification, load ads, content and updates, and measure usage.
- Location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): to help ad and analytics partners show relevant ads and measure performance.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): to deliver and measure advertising.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): to show notices and promotional messages.
- Display over other apps and background activity (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK, VIBRATE): to run features reliably, keep the App available, and show content or ads.
- Home screen, shortcuts and launcher features (INSTALL_SHORTCUT, QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES, REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES): to let you use the App as your home app where you choose, create shortcuts, show your installed apps, and let you remove apps.
- Other normal permissions required by Android or by SDKs we use. We request permissions only to operate, improve, secure and monetize the App as described in this policy.
5. How we use information
To provide, maintain and improve the App and its identification feature; to show and measure advertising, including personalized and targeted advertising; to analyze usage, fix crashes and improve performance; to personalize content; to detect fraud, abuse and security issues; to send service and marketing communications where permitted; to comply with law; and to respond to your requests.
6. Sharing and third-party services
We share information with affiliates, business partners and service providers that help us run, analyze and monetize the App. These providers act under their own privacy policies and we do not control their practices. They include:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads / Google Ads SDK: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Singular (attribution and analytics): https://www.singular.net/privacy-policy/
- Taboola (advertising and content recommendations): https://www.taboola.com/policies/privacy-policy
- AI service providers that process images to produce results, and other advertising networks, mediation partners and measurement providers we may add from time to time. Information shared can include device identifiers, the Advertising ID, IP address, approximate or precise location, installed-app information, app activity, ad interaction data and, for identification, the photos you submit. We may also disclose information to authorities when legally required, to protect rights, safety and security, and to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your information for money; however, sharing identifiers with ad partners for advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some laws, and you can opt out as described in Section 10.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage and similar technologies to recognize your device, measure performance and deliver advertising. See our Cookie Policy at /legal/cookies.
8. Your advertising choices
You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads (the path may vary by device). You can also revoke permissions in Settings > Apps > Multi-Identifier > Permissions. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
9. Data retention, security and transfer
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. Photos submitted for identification are kept only as long as needed to produce the result and operate and secure the service. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security or be responsible for the security of third-party providers. Information may be processed in countries other than yours, with appropriate safeguards where required.
10. Your rights
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know, access, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, to use an authorized agent, and to non-discrimination. We respond within 45 days.
- Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other US states: the right to know, access, correct, obtain a copy, delete, and opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling.

11. Children's privacy
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at shp.obitstudio@gmail.com and we will delete it. If you are under 18, please use the App only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept it.
